For most Indian sons and daughters who’ve finally ‘come of age’, the first salary holds a soft spot in their hearts. This is not only because they’ve taken their first step toward financial independence, but also, more importantly, because they can now, in some small way, repay their parents for everything they’ve done for their children all their lives. This sentiment of gratitude and warmth is what Tanishq captures brilliantly with this ad. The mood of the festive season, the bond shared by a quintessential nuclear Indian family and the right mix of tradition and culture followed by a young, modern son – this TV commercial captures the essence and the Diwali spirit quite well.
All of this while sticking to the core communication very clearly – One, that Tanishq is now extremely affordable by youngsters; and two, the size of the gift doesn’t matter. The emotion does.
