Collective Effort, Better India

Posted 1 year ago

“Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” Immortal words spoken by John F. Kennedy.

On seeing this, what stays with you the longest is the background score of Shankar Mahadevan singing, “Tum Chalo, To Desh Chale.” That is precisely what the ad is based on.

Traffic on a busy road is brought to a stand still because a tree fell down amid heavy rains. The various people in their respective positions, be it a politician, a store owner, an employee react to their helplessness in their own ways. But no wants to find a solution or do something about it.

A little boy starts shifting the heavy log. Even though he is unsuccessful in his effort, he inspires the rest of the onlookers to join the process.

The message is clear: Don’t just look, crib and comment. Do something about it.

  • VINITA AGARWALPosted 1 year agoGreat display of 'United we stand divided we fall" Collective hands of Indians can do anything...they can create ripples anywhere!! Am ashamed to watch the political leader at the start of the ad...he is being said "apke liye dusre car ka intajam kiya hai' silly..shame on such politicians..i love the unshakable spirit of the young kid who alone moves ahead to remove the tree trunk!.., "tum chalo to Hindustan chale" ..beautifully sung by Sukhwinder Singh, my favourite singer!!! I again salute the spirit of the kid...the ad clearly shows..we can do anything when we are united and at least one person has to take up action to stir others!!
  • Seema JainPosted 1 year agoThis is what the reality is. Love my India. No one can stop us not even god.only we need passion and confidence. We the Indians only need motivation and then we can break a mountain and tell everyone with proud that 'Yes We Are Indians' and no one can stop us when we are unite. "Alone gram cannot burst the flood".We are the most powerful ones and we can show this one day ................... And that Day is not far when We the Indians become Number 1 ............ Tum chalo , Hindustaan chale
